Dowthwaite Head in the Lake District

Dowthwaite Head Farm is located near Ullswater, between Penrith and Keswick, in the Northern Lake District.

From the M6 motorway: Turn off at junction 40 and take the A66 West towards Keswick and Workington. Continue along the dual carriageway until the road reduces to single carriage. Continue on the A66 for approximately 3 miles, past the Sportsman pub on your right, and take the next left signposted Troutbeck and Ullswater (A5091). Drive along the A5091 and, when you pass Rookin House on your right, take the next (proper) right turn which is signposted Dowthwaite Head. Continue along this minor road until you reach the farm.
